7th edition of the film festival

Luxembourg. In its 7th edition the Luxembourg City Film Festival is going to offer numerous film screenings and additional events, such as exhibitions, topic evenings or workshops in the following two weeks, from March 2nd to 12th. The 85 different films will be shown in five different Luxembourgish cinemas (Cinémathèque, Ciné-Utopia, Utopolis-Kirchberg, Chapiteau cour intérieur des Capucins and CNA Dudelange). In addition to this there are also six “outside the walls”-venues in and around Luxembourg city where the festival is going to take place in its upcoming 11 days.

The awards of the festival’s contest are going to be unveiled at the Festival closing ceremony on 10th March in Utopolis-Kirchberg. The following category-prizes are to win: “Grand Prix”, “Documentary Award” and “Youth Jury Award”. Furthermore there are also going to be winning films picked by the audience, film critics and by a children and student jury.

The winning films of the different contests will be screened in the Cinémathèque in Luxembourg on the last day of the Festival, March 12th. The awarded film of the “Critics Award“ will be shown at 5pm, the “Documentary Award”-winning film will be screened at 7pm, and the awarded film in the category “Grand Prix” is scheduled at 9pm.

 

Practical information:

With the Festival Pass for 25€ you have the possibility to watch 5 films (additional films can be seen for free as well, when one orders the tickets in advance); regular tickets cost 6€ per film screening, with discount 4,50€ (students and teenagers aged 16 or younger).

The workshop-offers can be attended for free in the limits of the available places (an inscription via e-mail is necessary).
