Wallonia. The site of “Bois du Cazier” is a former mining site in the south of Charleroi, nowadays used as a museum. Three topics can be experienced in the museum: the memorial of the mining accident of 1956, the glass museum and the industry museum. Also the surrounding area of the “Bois du Cazier” is worth a visit: the three slagheaps were transformed into a hiking area and provide different paths for active free time activities.

 

Opening hours:

Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm. “Bois du Cazier” is closed in the time between December 24th and January 9th.

Tickets for students and teenagers aged up to 18 cost 4.50€, adults pay 7€. Special prices for groups and classes.
